The M5Stack Catch Unit(SG92R) is a compact robotic gripper servo unit with an integrated SG92R servo motor for gripping and release functions. Control is performed by a 50 Hz PWM signal. The mechanical structure is designed to fit LEGO-compatible 8 mm round-hole building systems for modular robotic assemblies.
The gripper has a 90° opening and closing angle. According to the manufacturer, the servo rotation angle should be controlled within 0-45°, corresponding to a pulse width range of 0.5 ms to 1 ms at 50 Hz, to avoid stalling and possible servo damage. The unit is compatible with RoverC and can be used with development environments including UiFlow, MicroPython, and Arduino.
