The Arduino platform is a physical computing platform consisting of software and hardware. The hardware consists of a simple I/O board with a microcontroller and analog and digital inputs and outputs. The development environment is based on the development environment from Processing and Wiring, which is intended to make programming and microcontrollers easier to access for artists, designers, hobbyists and other interested parties.
