The DFRobot Fermion: BMV080 Air Quality Sensor (Breakout, PM1/PM2.5/PM10, I2C/SPI) is a compact dust sensor module for particulate monitoring in embedded systems. It is built around the Bosch BMV080 and measures fine particulate concentrations in the PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 classes. By combining laser-based light scattering with a fanless sensing architecture, the module is suitable for silent and low-maintenance air quality measurement.

The breakout board measures 24 × 20 mm and exposes the sensor interfaces for I2C and SPI through a 2.54 mm pin header. The fanless design reduces mechanical wear, dust accumulation in the optical path, and overall power demand. This makes the module suitable for compact, battery-powered, and permanently installed monitoring systems.

The source material specifies an accuracy of ±10µg/m³, enabling monitoring of typical particulate loads in indoor and general environmental applications. Its small form factor supports integration into portable instruments, IoT nodes, data loggers, and other space-constrained electronics.
