The Arduino Due is a microcontroller board based on the Atmel SAM3X8E ARM Cortex-M3 CPU . It is the first Arduino based on a 32-bit ARM Core microcontroller. It has 54 digital input/output pins (12 of which can be used as PWM output), 12 analog inputs, 4 UARTs (hardware serial ports), 84 MHz clocking, a USB OTG-capable connection, 2 DAC (digital to analog), 2 TWI, a power socket, an SPI header, a JTAG header, a reset and a delete button.
Warning: Unlike other Arduino boards, the Arduino Due operates at 3.3V. The maximum voltage that the I/O pins can withstand is 3.3V. If a higher voltage, such as 5V, is applied to the I/O pins, this can endanger the board.
The board has everything necessary to operate the microcontroller. To get started, all you need to do is connect the Arduino Due to a computer with a USB cable, or connect it to an AC-to-DC power supply or a battery. The Due is compatible with any Arduino shield that operates at 3.3V and is compliant with the Arduino 1.0 pinout.
