The DFRobot Gravity: 360 Degree Rotary Encoder Module is a rotary position sensor module with a digital I2C interface for detecting rotational movement over 360°. It functions as an encoder switch with 20 pulses per revolution, with each pulse corresponding to one detent. LED indicators assigned to the detents provide visual feedback of the current encoder status.
For use in different control scenarios, the response mapping can be configured in software. According to the manufacturer, the accuracy or settable value per detent can be adjusted from 1 to 51. The module also supports cascading, allowing multiple encoders to share a single I2C interface in one system design.
