The DFRobot Gravity: 64×8 Matrix DTOF 3D Laser Ranging Sensor (120° FOV, 5m Range) is a time-of-flight distance sensor module based on a full-solid-state DTOF LiDAR principle. The sensor captures distance data in a 64×8 matrix, providing 512 simultaneous ranging points across the forward detection area. The field of view is 120° horizontally and 20° vertically, with a maximum ranging distance of up to 5 m.
Using direct time-of-flight measurement, the module determines target distance by measuring the flight time of light. According to the supplier information, this approach offers resistance to ambient light interference and temperature variation in typical indoor and outdoor conditions. The module is intended for robot forward obstacle avoidance and blind spot detection. It also supports multiple output modes, including single-point, single-row, and full-data output. A dedicated GUI can be used for visualization of measurement data, depth maps, and grayscale images.
