The Gravity: I2C BMI160 6-Axis Inertial Motion Sensor from DFRobot is a compact 6-axis IMU sensor for measuring linear acceleration and angular rate. It is based on the Bosch BMI160 MEMS device, which integrates a 16-bit 3-axis accelerometer and an ultra-low-power 3-axis gyroscope. Communication is provided through an I2C interface in the Gravity form factor.
The module includes an onboard LDO regulator and I2C level shifting circuitry. This allows direct use with both 3.3 V and 5 V microcontroller platforms in embedded motion sensing, wearable devices, and general prototyping. Integrated functions such as step counting, 6D detection, FIFO buffering, and programmable interrupts support local motion event processing with reduced host workload.
